Thinking About This Photograph
This photograph was taken in Marunouchi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
This is a photograph of a large exhaust duct installed under the elevated railway near Tokyo Station.
When I first saw this big duct, I thought it was an exhaust duct installed by a restaurant, but it seems that it was actually installed by JR Railway.
I was overwhelmed by the size of this unfamiliar duct.
Then I immediately released the shutter of the camera.
Since the shooting location was a dark place, I shot with 1 stop underexposure than the proper exposure indicated by the light meter.
As a result, the black color was tightened, the highlights of the duct were emphasized, and the picture was exactly what I had imagined.
I think the photo is a good representation of the texture of the exhaust duct.
