Thinking About This Photograph
This photograph was taken in Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
This is a black-and-white film photograph of the alley extending from “Taimei-Street” in Ginza 6-chome.
You can see a woman walking on “Corridor-Street” on the other side of this street.
This alley is very narrow, but there are many such alleys in Ginza.
Since there are many dark places in the alleys, I always have a hard time shooting, but this photo is prevented from becoming a dark photo by putting the front of the building in the frame.
The monochrome film I use regularly is the ISO80 “Rollei Retro 80S“, so it’s always a fight against camera shake.
I have tried the high-sensitivity film “Rollei Retro 400S“, but I didn’t like it because of the coarse grain.
However, I still want to stick to the 35mm film camera and use it.
