Thinking About This Photograph

 The place where this photograoh was taken is Tsukiji called “Kitchen in Tokyo”.

 As of now, the fish market has moved to Toyosu, Koto-ku, Tokyo, but the image of “Tsukiji for food” still exists because the Tsukiji Outer Market remains.

 The Tsukiji Outer Market is located in Tsukiji 4-chome, but this photo shoot is in an area where many old houses in Tsukiji 6-chome and Tsukiji 7-chome still remain.

 However, recently, old houses have been demolished, and condominium construction and hotel construction are being actively carried out.

 I wanted to shoot on black-and-white film before such an old private house was demolished.

 This photo is the wall of the dwelling with store in a narrow alley.

 In recent years, fashionable design galvanized steel sheet exterior wall materials have been used in many houses, but even though they are galvanized steel sheets, they are called the old-fashioned “Totan” wall.

 The contrast between the slightly old galvanized iron exterior and the clean aluminum window sash was impressive.

 The placement of potted plants is also exquisite.
