Thinking About This Photograph
This photograph was taken at Shimbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo.
There are many restaurants in the downtown area of restaurants in Shinbashi, which is called the “Sacred place for office workers”.
There are many narrow alleys, but there are surprisingly few subjects to take as photographs suitable for this “The Other Side of Tokyo Japan” project.
Because even if it is a narrow alley, it is not a back alley, but a front street.
I found the place where I took this photograph.
It seems to be a machine manufacturing and sales company that has been operating for a long time, and this alley feels nostalgic.
The place where “Duct tape” is applied to the window makes you feel more old. (Why stick the Duct tape is a mystery …)
Most of the old Japanese houses have mortar outer walls, so as the years go by, they get dirty and add a nice touch.
It’s a shame that once it’s rebuilt on the outer wall of the siding, you won’t feel that atmosphere over the years.
This film development was done with MQ type self-prepared developer instead of PMK pyro developer.
“Highly diluted and highly sharp developer” that minimizes the use of metol and hydroquinone, which are the main developing agents, and minimizes the use of sodium sulfite, which is a retaining agent, and promotes development with sodium carbonate, which is an accelerator. is.
Since the amount of metol and hydroquinone, which are the main developing agents, is small, the developer deteriorates quickly and development does not proceed even if the development time is extended, so it is necessary to finish the development in a short time.
In addition, the stirring interval is lengthened to increase the edge effect and serve as a high-definition developer.
I think the PMK Pyro developer is more suitable for Rollei RETRO 80S film, but this self-prepared developer is also almighty and I like it.
The good thing about film photography is that you can enjoy it with a developer.
