Thinking About This Photograph
This photograph was taken at the beginning of the project of the “The Other Side of Tokyo Japan” online photo exhibition site, and was the work that triggered the launch of the “Alley” series.
There is an alley that extends further to the left from “Taimei Street” that extends from the opposite side of “Taimei” Elementary School near the “Sukiyabashi” intersection.
The alley is only a little less than 2m wide, and I feel a little scared from the approaching walls and the darkness.
Plumbing and outdoor units are randomly installed on the approaching wall.
One of the interesting things about Ginza is that the impression changes so much just by entering one back alley from the gorgeous city of Ginza.
There are many restaurants and bar entrances on this alley, but it may take some courage to enter.
I took a picture of such an alley.
It may be a photograph that Japanese people are not interested in, but I think it is a photograph that Westerners will find interesting.
