Thinking About This Photograph

This photograph was taken at Taimei Elementary School street in Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.

“Taimei Elementary School” is an alley that extends straight from the front of the Taimei Elementary School gate.

This photograph was taken of the entrance of “Taimeian”, a long-established soba restaurant in Ginza, but it is not particularly interesting.

I’ve shot it several times in the past, but I wasn’t satisfied with it.

However, in this shoot, I was able to get a good photograph by adjusting the exposure with an emphasis on tone rather than fascinating with modeling.

By highlighting only the white three-sided frame around the entrance sliding door and making the whole other dark tones, the shining three-sided frame is accented.

I think the photograph shows the texture of the old wooden sliding door and the texture of the curtain.
