Thinking About This Photograph

The photograph was taken in the back alley, a little away from Ningyocho Station in Nihonbashi-Ningyocho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.

It looked like the back door of a restaurant, and had a container with hand towels.

I was attracted to the place where the square exhaust duct was neatly arranged along the window and released the shutter.

In addition, the tone of dirt on the wall surface gives it a nice atmosphere.

Since the film is Rollei RETRO 80S, the high shutter speed cannot be used and the aperture cannot be narrowed down, which tends to result in poor image quality.

Ideally, I would like to use a shutter speed of 1/60 second or higher, and I want to stop down to F5.6 or higher, but especially in winter, it is dim, so I am forced to take harsh shots.

I have the option of using the Rollei RETRO 400S, but when I print on 11-inch x 14-inch photographic paper, I’m worried that I’ll feel the particles of the negative film.

However, I haven’t used the Rollei RETRO 400S film so much, so I’m thinking of doing a serious development test once as a film for winter photography.
