Thinking About This Photograph

 The place where the photograph was taken is Tsukiji 2-chome, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.

 When you enter the narrow alley, you will find Japanese restaurants and old taverns.

 The pure Japanese-style wooden structure in this photograph is a Japanese restaurant, but it has a tasteful lattice window and bamboo work “Inuyarai” (to protect the outer wall of the house from dog pee).  It now serves as a cover for the outdoor unit.

 I’m glad that there are still such buildings in the city center of Tsukiji, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.

 I shot it with a little underexposure so that I could express the texture of the wood.
