Thinking About This Photograph

This photograph was taken in Ginza, the main shooting location of “The Other Side of Tokyo Japan“.

One of the reasons I like Ginza is that it is a mixture of gorgeous streets and lonely streets.

In the early days when I started shooting Ginza, I used to shoot black-and-white film only on these “alleys.”

This is an early work of the “The Other Side of Tokyo Japan” shooting project.

 My basic lens is a “40mm F2.8 lens”, but I’m shooting with a “50mm F1.7 lens”.

Probably because the shutter speed was the limit of camera shake, I think I chose the higher speed 50mm F1.7 lens.

I think that blurring the back a little led to the result of making the electric signboard of the bar “Lupin” stand out.

As an aside, at the yakitori “Torigin” in the back of the photograph, you can eat “yakitori” and “kamameshi” at a relatively reasonable price.
