Thinking About This Photograph
This photo was taken at the check-in counter at Oita Airport around 1992.
I took this picture when I flew to the nearest Oita Airport for a shooting trip to Makurazaki City, Kagoshima Prefecture.
At that time, when I found a cute girl, I called out to take a picture.
Now that I’m old, I can’t do that …
I think it was because of the Leica camera that I was able to do that.
The Leica camera boom occurred in Japan around 2000, 10 years after that time, so it was a rare camera in Japan at that time, and it may have been mistaken for a newspaper photographer.
It made me want to take a snapshot again with Leica.
