Thinking About This Photograph
This photo was taken in May 1993 in Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
I shot a scene of women in suits meeting people in front of a building in Ginza.
In Japan at that time, many women wore suits.
What’s more, it’s a “shoulder padded” suit that we don’t see anymore.
It was a time when suits with wide shoulders were popular for both men and women.
Clothing helps identify the era of the photographs taken.
