Thinking About This Photograph

 This photo was taken in May 1993 in Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.

 I took a picture of a woman waiting for a person in front of the entrance of Ginza subway station.

 You can see from the photo how she is tired of waiting.

 At that time, there were no mobile phones yet, so it was a difficult time to meet people.

 It may be because of mobile phones that I don’t see many people meeting in the city right now.

 With the invention of camera-equipped mobile phones, we are now in an era where anyone can easily take pictures, but I feel that the goodness of real pictures has been lost.
