Thinking About This Photograph<\/h3>\n

\u00a0I took a photograph of a small bar in a slightly lonely place, a little away from the station in Nihonbashi-Ningyocho.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0It’s a featureless bar, but I thought that darkening the overall tone would make the photo look good, so I set the exposure a little underexposed and RAW developed so that black was the optimum tone.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0For digitized images, you can freely adjust the tone curve, brightness, and contrast by manipulating each parameter, but I also finish the digital image so that it has the same tone as when straight-printed on baryta photographic paper.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Therefore, this photograph can be finished with the same tone with gelatin silver print.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0I don’t think there is anything more boring than “over-adjusted photos”.<\/span><\/p>\n
