Thinking About This Photograph<\/h3>\n

\u00a0This photograph was taken in Tsukishima, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0The photograph was taken on the northwest side of one of “Nishinaka-dori” (Monja Street).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0This street is my photography spot and there are some private houses and shops that are attractive to photographers.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0The building in this photograph is a facility where Shibaura Institute of Technology holds lectures for the purpose of passing down the history of Tsukishima to posterity, and is named “Tsukishima Terrace House School”.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0At first glance, it looks like a traditional Japanese house that has been around for a long time, but it is actually a relatively recently built pure Japanese-style house that uses solid wood for the exterior material.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0A house that uses solid wood for its exterior feels a strong vitality.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0It is wonderful that the color and texture of solid wood change over time.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Recent new building materials just get dirty and ugly, but solid wood changes its color and texture and gives it a “taste”.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0I took a photograph of such a wooden building.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0I think it will be a building with a better texture in 10 years.<\/span><\/p>\n
